Website Accessibility and Website Usability in Leeds

If you have a website which hasn't been updated for a while, then it might be time to give it a spring clean in order to keep up with modern web standards.

We would be happy to look at your site and suggest where we see room for improvement. Common examples of where a site could be lacking include...

Usability

Usability is the ease in which a user can navigate your site. Is your site built in such a way that users can quickly and easily find the information they are looking for?

Accessibility

Accessibility is making your site easily viewable for any disabled user using a screen reader to view the content of your site.

As well as being a positive thing to have an accessible website for your users, such practise also means that if all content can be read by a screen reader, then it can also be read by a search engine, and thus it can often improve your search engine rankings.

Interactive Functionality

An example of this for a recent client was to build a way that customers could upload images of the work they required doing, so that our client could send the customer a quote. By entering their postcode, the form would calculate how far the customer lives away from our client, so that they could easily take petrol costs into account.

Other such functionality could be adding a blog or a twitter feed to your website, or even a game.

Content Management

Content Management allows you to update your site yourself with no knowledge of code - just use a simple Word-style editor.

Further information on Content Management is available in our article about Joomla! development.
